I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span from therapy for depression and grief counseling to parenting support, couples counseling and beyond. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients’ individual needs to help attain the personal growth they’re striving for.
I work with clients from two basic frames: psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral. Psychodynamic therapy focuses on relationships and how past experiences may affect the way you relate to others. This approach assists you in developing awareness of relational patterns or themes in your life so you can redesign your interactions with others and change the way you feel about yourself.
Cognitive behavioral approaches are often focused on a selected concern or behavior you seek to change. In a systematic way, you can consider how this behavior developed, the beliefs or meaning it may have for you, and how to modify your response or perception of this behavior. For clients who have identified a specific issue they wish to improve and are interested in taking a very active role in the process, this might be a good choice. We will discuss treatment options and what is involved during your initial session.
Seeing a psychologist is different from any other relationship. It is important to feel comfortable to discuss personal issues, and progress is most notable with consistency and commitment. No set time frame is anticipated, but if you have one in mind, we can discuss how it would be best to proceed. Contact me to talk more about your goals and how psychotherapy can help you.
Treatment options include individual, family or couples therapy for adolescents and adults.
Psychological assessment services are also available in some cases. Please call or email for more information.
